It really does seem as if I am speaking about all men. Let me clarify. If you know anything about men, you realize that they are not all the same. Usually, based on their ages, you may be able to find a decent man worth spending time with. A young man who hasn't really experienced heartbreak is the best kind of man. If you find him and you two grow into a loving relationship with each other, you can have a great and fulfilling love affair. But, as soon as you lie, cheat, or hurt this man in anyway, he will never forget it. He may forgive you. Maybe. If he does, I guarantee you the cheating will begin.
On the other hand, the more likely situation is that he will dump you. This man has the mentality that "I never want to feel that pain again". So this man is now the abuser. The pain that he feels he now inflicts that pain on women. The most depraved men may even start to hate them. This man will never commit to you. He will only use you for his pleasure and will push you aside when he's finished with you.
Sometimes a man will grow up. He will become tired of the chase and desire to settle down. This usually happens around 40. You might get to move in. If you nag hard enough, you might get a ring.
Ok, right now this sounds like any typical man in the U.S. that is running from commitment. I agree. So, why is a Memphis man different. Easy...
A Memphis man doesn't grow through these "phases" of life. This is a way of life. A man is taught from a early age that whatever you can get from a woman, get it. There's a saying, "Even a snake is good for snakeskin shoes." It doesn't matter who you are, it's just about what he can get from you. He never grows up. He will be alone for the rest of his life, and in Memphis, it seems like that is just fine.
To Be Continued...
